Datapointed.net is my new favorite site. I came across this site while doing a search for San Francisco hill slopes. They have that info too!
So, once on Datapointed.net I thought I’d try a site search for anything Oakland related and this article called “Where The Streets Have Your Name…” came up. How exciting!

I have a couple of images to share on the blog but they are stuck on my ‘memory full’ cell phone. It was so easy to share images on tumblr by sending images via text….those days are over.

Oakland Folk @ SOCAP11
Okay, this list is way overdue, but here are the Oakland folks I ran into at SOCAP11:
Oakland Charter Academy
Pacha’s Pajamas
Grind for the Green
Senda Athletics
These businesses/organizations are a few examples that answer SOCAP11’s theme and question: $ + Meaning = ? What does money + meaning equal? Feel free to comment on this one!

The Oak Roll
Okay, I was on a special walking tour last month and one of the people on the tour pointed out that “Oak” is such a great prefix, it is present in a lot of Oakland business and organization names. They mentioned this as we passed by Oakollectiv and Oaklandish on Broadway.
So now it’s time for the Oak Roll. What are some other names out there that start with “Oak?”

Two Years
October 27th marked the 2nd year of OakSnap’s existence. Here are some favorites from 2010/2011:
February 16: This is no longer a Golden Bay Gas station, but I love the colors they used!
March 25: This is when I absolutely love my cell phone camera. Nice!
May 2: Oakollectiv finally opened! Have you visited them yet?!
July 30: This path is great! (Minus the barbed wire.) Find it...

Oakland Folk @ SOCAP11
I’ve run into a ton of Oakland folk at Social Capital Markets 2011 (SOCAP11)! I’d love to do a write up and feature all the Oakland based entrepreneurs, nonprofits and businesses I met at SOCAP11. One more day left!

I miss blogging!
I miss blogging! I’ve been tweeting so much that blogging has been pushed to the side. So sad, especially since this blog thrives on cell phone images snapped all around Oakland. I’ve been inside most of the week.
I did go by Sears today and I was tempted to snap a shot inside. I was blindsided by the Kardashian display in the women’s clothing department. Then I almost freaked...
